Mirrored sunset

Poole park lake sunset
This shot was taken in Poole park looking over the line of reeds and the view of the sunset in the background. I didn’t use a tripod so an aperture of F7.1 allowed a shutter speed of 1/200th second. I confess that I used automatic mode to take this but it allows me to learn the appropriate settings for different situations. This shows the reflection in the water and the ripples add a distorted view to the reflected sky, clouds and buildings. These ripples are only able to be captured by a high shutter speed. Sunset images like this, shows one of my favourite things about photography. If this shot had been taken 5-10 minutes later then it would be different. This makes each photograph unique.
